Crispy Homemade Waffles

It doesn’t take much to make your own waffles over using a mix. These crispy homemade waffles are easy enough to make any day at any time. There is now separation of eggs and whipping the whites here. However, these are light and crispy on the outside with a soft and fluffy inside.

This simple batter for these crispy homemade waffles is made with a heavenly blend of flour, eggs, milk, melted butter, sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla.

Start by whisking the dry ingredients together in a bowl. In another bowl, beat the eggs with a hand mixer until fluffy and pale in color. Then mix in the milk and vanilla.

Now combine that dry and wet ingredients together. Then slowly add in the butter to the batter while mixing until smooth. Once that is combined, allow the batter to rest for 15 minutes.

Next, it’s where the magic happens. You pour that batter into your preheated waffle maker and cook until you have those golden crispy grids that will make your taste buds smile. Tops these how ever you like.

Give them a dusting of powdered sugar and a topping of fresh berries along with a dollop of whipped cream. Or spread with butter and drizzle with maple syrup. Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ¾ cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup butter melted

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs with a mixer until light and fluffy and pale in color.
  • Add the milk and vanilla to the eggs and combine.
  • Mix the egg mixture into the dry mixture.
  • Add the butter slowly while mixing, blending until just smooth.
  • Allow to sit 5 minutes and preheat your waffle iron.
  • Pour onto hot iron and cook until golden brown.Serve topped with pure maple syrup and butter or your favorite fruit and whipped cream. Should make at least 4 waffles depending on what type of waffle maker you have.
