Golden Buttermilk Waffles

One of my favorite things the have for breakfast is waffles! Some recipes are more labor intensive than others. Today’s recipe for Golden Buttermilk Waffles falls under the quick and easy category. Not much work is required for these waffles.
There really is no need for a mix when you have this recipe. It really doesn’t take much time to put together. The key to this recipe is buttermilk and I think using the real deal instead of a substitute is important. You just don’t get the same results if you’re not using the real stuff.

Golden Buttermilk Waffles

Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- ⅓ cup canola oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add in the buttermilk and oil. Add to the dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown. Makes 8-9 waffles using 1/2 cup of batter per waffle.
