Mmmmmm… garlic… cheese… bread—the ultimate trifecta of deliciousness! These Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks bring together all the best flavors in one irresistible package. Made from the basic homemade pizza dough recipe we shared yesterday, these breadsticks are a heavenly addition to any meal. Imagine biting into warm, cheesy, garlicky goodness that’s perfect alongside your favorite pizza or any Italian dish. You won’t be able to resist!

To elevate this experience even further, I whipped up some homemade pizza sauce for dipping. However, if you’re short on time, feel free to use canned pizza sauce or jarred marinara sauce —they work wonderfully, too. Whatever you do, don’t miss out on making these delectable breadsticks. Your taste buds will be eternally grateful, and you’ll find yourself coming back for more.

So go ahead, make a batch of these Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks and savor every bite. Trust me, they’re worth it! Happy baking!

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) to ensure it’s nice and hot.

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, stir together the softened butter and minced garlic until well combined. Set aside.

Roll Out the Dough: On a piece of parchment paper, roll out your pizza dough into a 12-inch circle using a rolling pin. This ensures even thickness for your breadsticks.

Add the Garlic Butter: Spread the prepared garlic butter mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, making sure to cover the entire surface.

Add the Cheeses: Sprinkle the dough first with grated Parmesan cheese, followed by shredded mozzarella cheese. This combination creates a gooey, cheesy topping.

Transfer to Baking Sheet or Pizza Stone: Carefully transfer the parchment paper with the dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet for baking.

Bake the Breadsticks: Place the dough in the preheated oven and bake for 9-10 minutes, or until the cheese starts to turn golden brown and bubbly.

Cut into Breadsticks: Once baked, use a pizza cutter to slice the cheesy garlic bread into stick shapes.

Optional Garnish: For a touch of color and added flavor, sprinkle a little dried parsley over the top of the breadsticks if desired.

Can I add other toppings to the breadsticks?
Yes, feel free to customize your breadsticks with additional toppings such as chopped herbs, crushed red pepper flakes, or even a sprinkle of bacon bits for extra flavor.

How do I prevent the breadsticks from sticking to the parchment paper?
Using parchment paper should help prevent sticking, but if you’re concerned, you can lightly grease the parchment paper with a little olive oil or cooking spray.

Can I use a different type of cheese?
Yes, you can use any cheese you prefer. While mozzarella and Parmesan are classic choices, you can experiment with other cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or a blend of your favorites.

How do I store leftovers?
Store any leftover breadsticks in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. To reheat, simply warm them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.

Can I freeze the breadsticks?
Yes, you can freeze the baked breadsticks. Allow them to cool completely. Then wrap them in plastic wrap and aluminum foil and place in the freezer. Freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator and warm in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.

How do I make the breadsticks crispier?
To achieve a crispier texture, you can bake the breadsticks on a preheated baking stone or increase the baking time slightly. Be sure to watch them closely to avoid over-browning.

Yum! I just made these for a potluck food dinner and they were a hit. The dough is really easy to make and didn’t taste to ‘yeasty’ like some other pizza dough I have made before did. I didn’t have any fresh garlic at home, so instead I used minced garlic and it tasted great. I will be making these again and again!

I made this today as a snack for football-watching. It was very tasty and I’m keeping the recipe, but changing a step. I will roll out the dough directly on a lightly-floured pizza stone and skip the parchment paper. Unfortunately, the parchment paper stuck to the crust and I had to scrape off what I could salvage.

I made this cheesy bread. I did some poor planning in my dinner prep one night and used one half of the dough straight from the fridge. Even that turned out delicious. Thank you for sharing the delicious recipe!

I just finished making these for dinner tonight. This was the best dough I have ever worked with! It was easy to roll out, rose perfectly, and baked up to taste delicious. The breadsticks were the hit of the night — everyone loved them! GREAT recipe — it will become a staple in our home!

  9. Sounds yummy! Right now I have a crock pot of your Slow Cooker Lasagna Soup cooking & I just finished baking some garlic breadsticks. I only wish I had checked my email before making the breadsticks. Oh well, these will be made very soon!
