One of my favorite salads is a Caesar salad. I make it often at home to pair with Italian dishes, and I order it frequently when we eat out. I love the creamy Caesar dressing paired with crunchy croutons and sharp parmesan cheese. It makes my mouth happy.

This bowtie chicken Caesar salad recipe amps up the typical salad. It adds chicken, which is an addition you can see often, especially when using it as a main dish. You can cook your own chicken, or store-bought rotisserie chicken is a great option to use in this recipe.

However, this version has the addition of pasta, more specifically, bowtie pasta. It makes it even more fantastic. There are also almonds added in this bowtie chicken Caesar salad, which is also a welcoming surprise. I used almonds that were seasoned with sea salt and pepper. I found them on the aisle with the croutons.

Prepare the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine: cooked, diced chicken for protein, chopped romaine lettuce for freshness, seasoned sliced almonds for a nutty, flavorful bite, cooked bow tie pasta for texture, and croutons or fresh herbs for extra crunch.

Toss & Coat with Dressing: Gently toss all ingredients together, ensuring they’re evenly mixed. Slowly drizzle the creamy Caesar dressing over the salad while continuing to toss, allowing each ingredient to be coated without becoming too heavy.

Serve & Enjoy: Once fully combined, serve immediately for maximum freshness, or chill for a short time to let the flavors meld. Garnish with Parmesan cheese or cracked black pepper for the perfect finishing touch.

Can I use a different type of pasta?
Yes! While bowtie pasta works great for texture, you can swap it for rotini, penne, or even fusilli. Just make sure to cook it al dente so it holds up well in the salad.

Can I make this salad ahead of time?
Absolutely! You can prepare all the ingredients except the dressing ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the fridge. When ready to serve, toss with dressing to keep everything fresh and crisp.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 heads romaine lettuce chopped
  • 2 cups chicken diced and cooked
  • 2 cups dry bowtie pasta cooked
  • 1 cup seasoned sliced almonds found in the salad dressing isle (I used sea salt and place flavored, but roasted garlic would also be good)
  • 2 cups garlic croutons
  • Caesar salad dressing I used Newman’s Own

Instructions
 

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl , except the dressing. Toss together and slowly add dressing while tossing until coated.
