One key ingredient is what makes it possible to make an easy homemade alfredo sauce in about 5 minutes.
This from scratch 5 minute alfredo sauce utilizes cream cheese to make this sauce quick and thick. It’s nice and creamy and has a slight tango to it from the cream cheese.
This sauce begins in a way that any good cream sauce begins with some butter. Then you mix in some minced garlic. Next, you add in some cream cheese, milk, and Parmesan cheese. I use full fat cream cheese but opt for skim milk. Any milk will work. You cook this all together until the cheeses melt and combine with the milk and butter.
To finish it off, we up the garlic level even more by adding in some garlic salt. You also mix in some parsley for color and flavor. To serve, you can serve it over any cooked pasta. I personally like it with linguine. I also prefer to toss the noodles in the sauce rather than serve over the top of the noodles.
You can even use this sauce if you have a recipe that utilizes alfredo sauce. I must say that I think it’s perfect with the pasta or to use in a recipe. Now, I have tried to use this as a dipping sauce for breadsticks but just don’t think this specific sauce works well for that. I don’t like the tangy flavor paired with the bread. So, that’s my 2 cents on that.
