Veggie Cups with Mom’s Vegetable Dip

For my niece’s bridal shower menu, I decided to have some vegetables and dip. I wanted to make it more exciting than just serving them on a plain old veggie tray. After some thought, I came up with the idea of creating veggie cups with my mom’s vegetable dip! To find the correct size, was the bigger challenge!
I was like goldilocks looking for the right size cups to use. They needed to not be too large, and that’s what I found with the 9 ounce clear cups at the grocery store. Then, the 2 oz dessert cups I found were too small. I ended up finding some 3.5 oz appetizer cups from Hobby Lobby.
They were just right for these veggie dip cups! I grabbed a cup and started layering it with colorful and crunchy vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes. To top it off, I added a generous dollop of my mom’s famous vegetable dip!
The result was not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious. The combination of fresh vegetables and creamy dip in a convenient cup made for the perfect appetizer!
It was a hit with the family and friends, and I will definitely be making them again in the future!

How to make veggie cups with Mom’s Vegetable dip
One of my sisters-in-laws took care of the veggies for the cups. You want everything to be about the same in length and to have a variety of color.
She had a mixture of pepper slices, celery sticks, carrots, cucumber, and snap peas. We also had grape tomatoes that were put on an extra long toothpick. Feel free to change up the veggies, but I loved this combination!
Now let’s make the dip. This is my mom’s recipe. I have tried other recipes, but they just aren’t as good as my mom’s.
It’s a mixture of mayonnaise and sour cream with dried dill, dried onion, and then some beau monde or bon Appetit seasoning. The perfect flavor combination.
Beau monde made by Spice Islands is the easiest of those two seasonings to find. You can find a version online, but it is like 4 times the cost of the Spice Islands version.
McCormick used to make the bon Appetit seasoning for grocery stores. However, they have since stopped making it. They do offer a substitute recipe that you can make if you want to go that route. It uses onion powder, celery salt, and sugar.
Serve these at bridal or baby showers. They will work great for birthday parties too!
