This recipe brings together the best of two worlds by combining the flavors of classic cinnamon rolls with the convenience of Pillsbury crescent rolls to create Quick Cinnamon Crescent Rolls. These rolls offer all the warm, sweet cinnamon goodness you love but with an extra flaky and buttery twist thanks to the crescent dough. In my opinion, they taste even better than the pre-made cinnamon rolls you find in a tube.

While they take just a little more effort to prepare, the results are well worth it. The crescent dough adds a light and flaky texture that elevates these rolls to a whole new level of deliciousness. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a sweet snack, these quick cinnamon crescent rolls are sure to become a favorite in your recipe collection!

  • CRESCENT ROLL DOUGH (found in the refrigerated section of your grocery store)
  • BUTTER
  • SUGAR
  • CINNAMON
  • MILK
  • POWDERED SUGAR
  • VANILLA

Start by preparing the filling for these Quick Cinnamon Crescent Rolls. Mix softened butter with sugar and cinnamon to create a sweet, spreadable paste. This flavorful filling will add a rich, spiced sweetness to each bite. Take each triangle of crescent dough and evenly spread the cinnamon butter mixture over the surface.

Roll up each triangle starting from the wide end, forming a crescent shape. Place the rolled crescents on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet with the tip side down to prevent them from unrolling while baking. I recommend using parchment paper for easy cleanup and to ensure the rolls don’t stick to the pan.

Bake the rolls in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until they turn golden brown and flaky. Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly while you prepare the glaze. To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, a splash of milk, and a hint of vanilla extract until smooth.

Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm rolls, allowing it to seep into the flaky layers. For best results, let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving. These sweet, buttery cinnamon crescent rolls are perfect for enjoying warm as a sweet treat for brunch or dessert.

Can I make the filling ahead of time?
Absolutely! You can mix the cinnamon-sugar mixture in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Let it soften slightly before spreading on the dough.

What other toppings can I use instead of the powder sugar glaze?
You can sprinkle powdered sugar over the warm rolls for a simpler finish or drizzle melted chocolate for an extra indulgent treat.

How do I store leftovers?
Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them and reheat in the microwave or oven before serving.

Can I use a different filling?
Yes, this recipe is versatile. You can swap the cinnamon-sugar filling for cream cheese, Nutella, or even fruit preserves for a different flavor profile and variation of this recipe.

How long does the glaze take to set?
The glaze typically sets in 5-10 minutes, depending on the room temperature. Letting the rolls sit for a few minutes after glazing ensures a cleaner presentation.

Can I make these crescent rolls gluten-free?
Yes, you can use gluten-free crescent dough if available. Ensure that any other ingredients, like powdered sugar and vanilla extract, are also certified gluten-free for those with dietary restrictions.

Can I make mini versions of these rolls?
Yes, you can! Simply cut the crescent dough triangles in half before spreading the filling to create smaller, bite-sized rolls. Adjust the baking time as they’ll cook faster.
