Panini sandwiches give you a crispy, toasted bread along with warm flavorful fillings. This turkey, bacon, and guacamole panini includes sliced turkey, creamy guacamole, melty cheese, crisp bacon, and juicy tomato slices.

If you don’t have a panini press, you can still make this sandwich, just like you would a grilled cheese sandwich. The key to this sandwich is to use good quality ingredients.

turkey bacon guacamole panini cut in half

I get my turkey, bacon, and guacamole from Costco. I like to buy the guacamole in the individual packages. Then, I keep them in the freezer then pull some out as needed. Just place the packages in the fridge to thaw the night before I need them.

  • THICK SLICED BREAD (I USED SOURDOUGH)
  • MAYONNAISE
  • GUACAMOLE
  • SLICED TURKEY
  • HAVARTI CHEESE
  • BACON
  • TOMATO
  • BUTTER

Start by preheating your panini press on medium heat.

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly onto each slice of bread. Then, repeat the process with guacamole, spreading 2 tablespoons onto each slice.

Layer turkey, slices of cheese, bacon, and tomato slices onto one slice of bread. Top with the second slice of bread and spread softened butter over the top. Carefully transfer the assembled sandwich, buttered side down, onto the preheated panini press or skillet.

Spread the remaining tablespoon of butter over the top slice of bread. Press down the panini press and cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes. Make sure the bread is golden and crispy on the outside. Also, make sure to melt the cheese on the inside.

Once the sandwich is golden and toasted to your liking, remove it from the press or skillet and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious homemade panini!

Can I use store-bought guacamole or should I make my own?
You can use either store-bought guacamole or homemade guacamole for this recipe, depending on your preference and convenience. Both options will work well and provide delicious flavor for the panini.

Can I customize the fillings in this panini?
Absolutely! Feel free to customize the fillings in this panini to suit your taste preferences. You can change up the cheese or use different types of deli meat to create your perfect combination.

How do I prevent the bread from getting soggy?
You prevent the bread from getting soggy when you spread the thin layer of mayo and guacamole evenly on each slice of bread. By adding this layer before layering the ingredients between the slices of bread it creates a barrier.
