Super Fast Pasta Bake

by Laura

One dish meals are always nice to have in your recipe file.  Who doesn’t love a meal without a lot of clean up?  Today’s super fast pasta bake recipe is just that.  It’s an easy meal that is all mixed and cooked in the same dish.

The only other things you may have to dirty is a measuring cup, spoon, and cheese grater. You can skip the cheese grater if you want to use pre-shredded cheese.

It is also a simple dish – just pasta, sauce, and cheese.  No need to pre-cook you pasta here.  It all cooks together in the oven.  This super fast pasta bake is a yummy meatless dish!  I adapted this one from Meals 4 Moms.

Super Fast Pasta Bake

  • Author: Laura

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz. elbow macaroni or other small shaped pasta (I used mini bow tie pasta)
  • 4 1/4 cups spaghetti/marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese ( I used a cheese blend)

Instructions

  1. In a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, combine the spaghetti/marinara sauce, water, and tomatoes.  Stir in raw pasta.
  2. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45  minutes to 1 hour until pasta is tender.
  3. Top with cheese and place back in the oven uncovered.  Bake a few more minutes until cheese is melted. Serves 4-6.

Thanks for the recipe! If I wanted to add meat, can I just add some cooked chicken cubes or would that interfere with the cooking of the raw pasta?

So easy to make! I did everything like the recipe said except DOUBLED the pasta and it was perfect (1hr cook time before the cheese). Will def add veggie ground beef last night, and maybe mushrooms and other veggies!

I love pasta bakes and this one sounds nice, but I find that there is to much fluid by at least two times. Either increase your pasta to a lb+ or decrease all your liquid ingredients some.
Also, for a different zip, try some green chilis in there sometime. Not overpowering and I think it’s a nice spin on the bake idea.
Thanks for a great site, with a nice layout. Happy cooking.

I love that this is made with raw pasta! I tend to get lazy about pasta bakes sometimes because of the added step of cooking the pasta first! Looks delicious!

I tried the recipe with a small add: I added ricotta and camembert cheese with mozarella………..a new taste…I like all types of cheese.
