This spread is creamy, flavorful, and just the thing to add a little pizzazz to your everyday sandwiches. The base is velvety cream cheese, which means you can totally skip additional cheese if you’re trying to keep things light (but no judgment if you want to double down!).

The best part? It only takes a handful of ingredients—just a jar of roasted red peppers (yep, you’ll usually find them in the pickle aisle), cream cheese, a bit of mayo, fresh basil, and a pinch each of salt and pepper. Blend it all together and you’re done! It keeps beautifully in the fridge for a few days, making it perfect for meal prep or spontaneous sandwich cravings. Honestly, I wouldn’t hesitate to spread it on burgers, wraps, or even crackers for a quick snack.

In a medium bowl, stir together all of the ingredients until smooth and well combined. Once mixed, transfer the spread to an airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep fresh for up to 3 days—perfect for making ahead or enjoying throughout the week!

How long does the roasted red pepper spread last in the fridge?
Stored the mixture in an airtight container, the spread will stay fresh for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

Can I use fresh red peppers instead of jarred?
Yes, just roast a red bell pepper yourself until the skins char and blister, then peel and cool before blending with the other ingredients. Jarred is great for convenience, but fresh adds a lovely homemade touch.

What if I don’t have fresh basil?
You can substitute dried basil—just reduce the amount to about 1 teaspoon since dried herbs are more concentrated. It won’t be quite as bright, but it still adds great flavor!

Is this spread spicy?
Not at all. It’s more creamy and slightly tangy from the roasted red peppers. If you want some heat, try mixing in crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.

Can I freeze the spread?
