Fab Five Taco Twists

by Laura

As I promised in my post yesterday, today’s is my fab five taco twists. This is my favorite basic ways to give your regular tacos a new twist.  Now some of these are oldies but goodies so please excuse the less experienced photos for those recipes.  This weeks fab five, ended up to be more than 5, but who cares.  It’s my blog and I can do what I want to, right?

First way is the change up the usual taco shells.  Flat bread tacos are one of my favorite ways to do this.

Another way to do this is by making your own crispy taco shells with corn tortillas.

Or give a jacketed taco a try.  With this you use a four tortilla and a crispy shell, double the pleasure!   YUMMY!

Or you can even serve it over tater tots and have tater tot tacos!

Next, change up the meat.  Sure you can always revert to the usual ground beef with taco seasoning but why not try saucy tacos which use the addition of beans and tomato sauce and or quick chili tacos using a can of chili.  Or how about shredded beef tacos that cook in the slow cooker all day.

Last is to go for chicken instead of beef and make Too Easy Chicken Tacos.  My kids love this one and my oldest son usually makes this for dinner whenever I am out of town.  Or how about pork, these citrus pulled pork tacos are a fun change. That’s my fab five taco twists.
