Stovetop BBQ Beans

by Laura

I love serving baked beans as a side dish, but I don’t always like having to bake them. Most recipes I have time some time to make. Today’s recipe is a version that is done strictly on the stovetop – no baking needed. These Stovetop BBQ Beans just simmer for a bit on the stovetop. They end up deliciously sweet and saucy.

This recipe includes pineapple tidbits. However it you want a less chucky texture just substitute it with crushed pineapple instead. I really love the flavor and sweetness you get from the pineapple in there.

This starts by cooking come onion and green pepper in some butter. Once that is tender, you are going to mix in some canned pork and beans, pineapple, bbq sauce, honey, and brown sugar. Stir to combine. The allow to simmer for about 20 minutes o combine the flavors and thicken.

That’s all you need to do to make these stovetop BBQ beans. These are so simple to make and taste much better than what you get from a can. Give them a try.
