Well, today is the first official day of Winter. And what a better way to enjoy the first day of Winter than with a cup of hot chocolate. A cup of salted caramel hot chocolate is even better!
It has felt like winter here in Salt Lake for a while and I just love to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. This gourmet flavored version is easy to make with one key ingredient – salted caramel syrup. This is something that can be purchased usually by the coffee and hot chocolate at your local grocer. I used the Torani brand but there are several brands out there that you can purchase.

If you can’t find the salted caramel flavor, then just a caramel flavor will do with a little salt added in. Starbucks even sells a caramel flavored drink syrup that you can purchase.
This also cooks in the crock pot, but by all means if you want it faster, just put it in a pot on the stove and cook until heated.
