Quick Fruit Salad

Today’s recipe for Quick Fruit Salad is a variation of a recipe I’ve shared before called Peachy Fruit Salad. Both salads start with a can of peach pie filling as the base, which creates a deliciously sweet and smooth glaze that ties all the fruits together. I first found these recipes in an issue of Quick Cooking (now Simple and Delicious), and they’ve been staples ever since.

While Peachy Fruit Salad includes marshmallows, mandarin oranges, pineapple, bananas, and grapes, this version is even simpler, with only four ingredients. Despite being so easy to make, it’s always a crowd-pleaser whenever I take it to gatherings. The peach pie filling gives the fruit a sweet, irresistible glaze that everyone asks about—it’s amazing how something so simple can taste so delicious!

The pie filling already provides a sweet, ready-made coating for the fruit, making the salad quick and easy to prepare. The sweet glaze complements the fruit’s natural flavors. It enhances the overall taste and makes the salad feel more indulgent without needing extra sugar or dressing. By combining fresh fruit with canned pie filling, you achieve a simple and delicious fruit salad that’s flavorful and appealing to a wide range of tastes!

I recently brought this Quick Fruit Salad to a neighborhood party, and it was a huge hit. The vibrant colors and sweet, refreshing flavors made it a perfect dish for the gathering. Everyone loved how light and flavorful it was, and I even had a few people asking me for the recipe by the end of the night!

Pour the peach pie filling into a large bowl to create the sweet glaze base. Add the sliced bananas, halved strawberries, and seedless grapes, stirring gently to coat all the fruit with the pie filling.

Once everything is combined, cover the bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve. This will allow the flavors to meld together beautifully. Serve chilled for best results.

This recipe yields 6-8 servings, making it perfect for a quick family side dish or a simple potluck dish. Enjoy this easy and refreshing Quick Fruit Salad with its sweet peach glaze, a great go-to for any occasion!

easy fruit salad recipe made with just 4 ingredients

Can I use different fruits in this salad?
Yes! This recipe is very flexible. You can substitute or add in other fruits like blueberries, pineapple, or kiwi. Just use fruits that will hold up well in the salad and won’t become mushy.

How far in advance can I make this fruit salad?
To keep the fruit fresh, making this salad no more than a few hours before serving is best. Bananas, in particular, can brown if left too long. If preparing ahead of time, you can add the bananas closer to serving to keep them looking fresh.

Can I use frozen fruit?
Fresh fruit is recommended for the best texture, but you can use frozen fruit if needed. Just make sure to thaw and drain the fruit well to prevent excess moisture from watering down the peach glaze.

How do I prevent the bananas from browning?
To prevent bananas from browning, toss them with lemon or pineapple juice before adding them to the salad. This will help keep their fresh color and flavor.

How long will leftovers keep in the fridge?
Leftover fruit salad can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. However, the fruit, especially the bananas, may start to soften and brown after the first day.

Can I add other toppings to this salad?
Yes! For extra texture and flavor, feel free to add a sprinkle of chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or even a dollop of whipped cream.
