I’ve shared garlic knots with you before, but today’s version brings that authentic pizzeria flair right into your kitchen. These are pizzeria-style garlic knots, and the difference is all in the dough and the buttery, seasoned finish. Instead of a traditional bread dough, these knots are made with classic pizza dough, giving them that signature chewy texture you’d expect from your favorite slice shop. And the garlic butter? It’s infused with pizza seasoning, which adds a bold, herby kick that makes every bite irresistible.

One of the best things about this recipe is how quick and flexible it is. The pizza dough comes together easily and doesn’t require any rise time—once it’s mixed, you can go straight to shaping your knots. No waiting, no fuss. Just twist, bake, and brush with that flavorful garlic butter. The result is a batch of chewy, golden knots with crispy edges and a savory finish that’s perfect for dipping, sharing, or serving alongside pasta night. Whether you’re hosting friends or just craving something cozy, these garlic knots deliver that pizzeria magic with homemade ease.

Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

In a large bowl, combine warm water, honey, 1 tablespoon of oil, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for a few minutes until foamy. Add the flour and knead until a soft, elastic dough forms—this only takes a few minutes. On a lightly floured surface, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into an 8-inch rope, then tie it into a loose knot and place it on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the knots for 12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. While they bake, melt the butter and stir in minced garlic, pizza seasoning, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.

As soon as the knots come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. Serve warm and enjoy—this recipe makes 12 chewy, flavorful garlic knots that taste just like your favorite pizzeria.

Can I use store-bought dough instead of homemade pizza dough?
Yes! Store-bought pizza dough works great and makes this recipe even faster. Just let it come to room temperature before shaping the knots.

Do I need to let the dough rise before baking?
No rise time is needed. Once the dough is mixed and shaped into knots, you can bake them right away—perfect for busy nights or last-minute appetizers.

What’s the difference between these and regular homemade garlic knots?
These knots use pizza dough instead of bread dough, giving them a chewier texture. The garlic butter also includes pizza seasoning, which adds a bold, herby flavor that mimics your favorite slice shop.

Can I make the dough ahead of time?
Yes. You can prepare the dough a few hours ahead and keep it covered at room temperature, or place in the fridge it for up to 24 hours. Just let it warm slightly before shaping.

Can I freeze the knots?
Absolutely. Freeze baked knots in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes, then brush with fresh garlic butter.

Can I add cheese or other toppings?
Definitely! Sprinkle Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, or even a pinch of red pepper flakes on top after brushing with garlic butter for extra flavor.
