You don’t need many ingredients to make your own homemade tartar sauce recipe. It tastes way better than the prepared stuff from the store. The key is the fresh dill! Then you use diced dill pickles. I like the dicing up my own dill pickle. However, if you want to make it easier to put together, you can use dill relish. My family doesn’t enjoy the big chunks of pickles like I do. - 1 cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup dill relish or dill pickles, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp sugar
- Add all of the ingredients to a bowl. Mix to combine. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
