- WATER
- EGGS
- KETCHUP
- LEAN GROUND BEEF
- BROWN SUGAR
How to Make Easy Stove Top Stuffing Meatloaf Recipe
Add 1 cup of water to the stuffing mix in a large mixing bowl to soften it and make it easy to mix into the beef. Once the stuffing mix has absorbed the water, add 2 eggs, some ketchup, and some ground beef. Mix it all together until combined.
At this point, you are going to put the meat mixture in a pan, but you don’t have to use a loaf pan. Instead, you use a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and free-form shape it into a loaf that is about 9×5. Line the pan with foil and clean up is super easy!
Lastly, you need that sweet glaze on top. This is made by mixing some ketchup with some brown sugar. Spread the ketchup glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until fully cooked. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of stuffing mix should I use?
You can use any boxed stuffing mix for this recipe, whether it’s a seasoned herb mix, cornbread stuffing, or even a flavor like chicken or turkey. Choose a variety that you enjoy, as it will impart its flavors into the meatloaf. Just be mindful of the sodium content if you’re watching your salt intake, as some stuffing mixes can be quite salty.
Can I use ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef?
Yes, you can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef if you prefer a leaner meatloaf. Just be aware that ground poultry tends to be less fatty so that the meatloaf might be slightly less moist. To compensate, you might want to add a little extra moisture, such as a splash of broth or an extra egg.
How long should I cook the meatloaf?
The cooking time for meatloaf can vary depending on its size and thickness. Generally, a standard loaf will take about 1 hour to cook at 350°F (175°C). To ensure the meatloaf is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for ground beef or 165°F (74°C) for ground poultry.
Can I make this meatloaf ahead of time?
Yes, you can prepare the meatloaf mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. Alternatively, you can bake the meatloaf, let it cool, and then refrigerate it for up to 3 days. Reheat it in the oven before serving, and cover it with foil to retain moisture.
Can I freeze leftover meatloaf?
Yes, leftover meatloaf freezes well. You can freeze it whole or in individual slices for easy reheating. Wrap the meatloaf tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil or place it in a freezer-safe container. It can be frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and warm in the oven or microwave.
