This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and depending on your local situation with COVID restrictions, dining out may not be an option. But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate Mom with a special homemade meal! This week, I’ll be sharing some delicious breakfast recipes that you can easily prepare at home to make her day extra special. We’re kicking things off with an effortless and flavorful Easy Sausage Quiche, perfect for breakfast or brunch!

This quiche requires only six simple ingredients, making it a fuss-free yet satisfying dish. Unlike traditional quiche, this one doesn’t require a pie crust, which simplifies prep while still delivering all the creamy, savory goodness you love. The base consists of eggs, half-and-half, and baking mix, creating a light and fluffy texture that holds everything together. Mixed into the batter are savory sausage, fresh green onions, and melty cheese, ensuring that every bite is packed with flavor.

For a finishing touch, feel free to add your favorite toppings to customize the dish. Whether you prefer a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of chopped tomatoes, parsley, or even avocado, these extras can elevate the dish and make it even more special. No matter how you serve it, this Easy Sausage Quiche is a perfect way to show Mom just how much she’s appreciated!

  • PORK SAUSAGE
  • GREEN ONION
  • CHEDDAR CHEESE
  • LARGE EGGS
  • HALF-AND-HALF OR MILK
  • BISQUICK
  • OPTIONAL TOPPING – SOUR CREAM, CHOPPED TOMATOES, CHOPPED FRESH PARSLEY

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even baking. Lightly grease a 13×9-inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Next, spread the cooked crumble sausage evenly across the bottom of the prepared pan. Sprinkle chopped onions and shredded cheese over the sausage to create a flavorful base.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, and baking mix until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Carefully pour this egg custard mixture over the cheese and sausage, ensuring an even distribution for a perfect bake.

Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. This ensures the quiche is fully set and cooked through.

Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes. Then, slice into 12 squares and serve warm. Add optional toppings like fresh herbs, salsa, or sour cream for an extra burst of flavor.

Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a quick dinner, this Sausage Quiche is both hearty and easy to make!

Can I use a different type of sausage?
Yes! You can swap breakfast sausage for Italian sausage, turkey sausage, or even chorizo for a spicier kick. Just make sure it’s fully cooked before adding it to the dish.

Do I have to use half-and-half?
No, but it helps create a rich and creamy texture. You can substitute with milk for a lighter quiche or use heavy cream for an even silkier consistency.

Can I add vegetables to this quiche?
Absolutely! Try mixing in bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach, or diced tomatoes for added flavor and texture. Just sautƩ them first to remove excess moisture.

What can I use instead of baking mix?
If you don’t have baking mix, you can use all-purpose flour combined with a pinch of baking powder and salt for a similar effect.

How do I know when the quiche is fully cooked?
Bake until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean. The edges should be slightly golden, and the top should have a firm, slightly puffy texture.

Can I make this quiche ahead of time?
Yes! You can assemble and refrigerate the mixture overnight, then bake in the morning. If baked in advance, store it in the fridge and reheat at 350°F until warmed through.

How long do leftovers last?
Leftover quiche can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat individual servings in the microwave or oven.

Can I freeze Sausage Quiche?
Yes! Bake and cool the quiche, then wrap tightly and store in the freezer for up to 2 months. Reheat straight from frozen in a 350°F oven until hot.
