My family loves to enjoy a bowl of tomato soup along with a grilled cheese sandwich. They are happy to just have a can of tomato soup, but I have found this simple slow cooker creamy tomato soup recipe that is just about as easy as opening that can of tomato soup. However, the taste is even better!
This soup is made with canned crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and cream along with a few seasonings. I love to put it in the slow cooker and let it go, but it can be prepared on the stove top if you are short on time. After you cook this in the slow cooker for 8 hours on low, it’s time for the creamy part of the soup. You add in some cream, salt, pepper, and butter.
My family loves to add saltine crackers to our soup. I happen to prefer club crackers instead. We also love a toasty grilled cheese sandwich on the side. If you want this Italian grilled cheese or three cheese grilled cheese are great options.
