Cool Ranch Chicken Tacos

I love to make chicken tacos in the slow cooker. This recipe for Cool Ranch chicken tacos is a simple but tasty variation. You will love the addition of the ranch flavor.

You only need 4 ingredients to make the cool ranch chicken tacos. Add some boneless skinless chicken breasts to your slow cooker along with a little chicken broth. Then sprinkle a package of taco seasoning along with a package of ranch dressing. After this, just set to cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.

When the chicken is fully cooked, remove from the crock pot and shred with two forks. I like to add the chicken back in with the juices after I shred it. I do remove any of that slimy stuff left from the chicken before I do it though. After that, just serve it up however you like to for tacos. I use corn tortillas, cheese, fresh salsa, and sour cream. Guacamole is also great, but I didn’t have any when I made this for the picture. Or feel free to use this same chicken on nachos or salad. Even use it in quesadillas.

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 pkg (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 pkg (1 oz) ranch dressing mix


  • Place the chicken inside the slow cooker along with the chicken broth. Sprinkle the taco seasoning and ranch dressing mix over the chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours until the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Remove the chicken and shred with two forks. Stain juices in crock pot so only clear juices remain. Add the chicken back in and serve as you would for tacos. Serves 8.
