Brown the Sausage: In a large skillet, brown the kielbasa sausage over medium heat until it’s nicely caramelized. Once browned, drain any excess fat and set the sausage aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining ingredients (such as apricot preserves, mustard, and spices). Cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is heated through and well combined.

Combine and Heat: Return the browned sausage slices to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is heated through and well coated with the apricot sauce.

Serve: Serve the sausage slices warm, ideally with pretzel sticks or toothpicks for easy eating. Enjoy this delicious and easy-to-make appetizer.

Can I use a different type of sausage?
Yes, you can substitute kielbasa with other sausages like smoked sausage, turkey sausage, or even vegetarian sausage if you prefer. Just keep in mind that the flavor may vary slightly.

How do I store leftovers?
Store any leftover apricot kielbasa slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through before serving again.

Can I prepare this recipe ahead of time?
Yes, you can prepare the sausage and sauce separately a day in advance. Store them in the refrigerator and combine them in a skillet to heat through when you’re ready to serve.

Can I use a different type of fruit preserve?
Absolutely! If you don’t have apricot preserves, you can use peach, pineapple, or even orange marmalade as a substitute. Each will give the dish a slightly different but delicious flavor.

How do I prevent the sauce from becoming too thick?
If the sauce becomes too thick, you can thin it out with a splash of water or a bit more of the fruit preserve. Stir well to ensure it’s evenly combined.

Can I cook this in a slow cooker?
Yes, after browning the sausage, you can transfer everything to a slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours. This method is great for keeping the dish warm during parties.
