Today’s quick appetizer is one that gets cooked in a slow cooker with only 5 ingredients. You can make this slow cooker apple kielbasa with 6 ingredients if you like. The addition of a little cinnamon is nice, but isn’t necessary. I love the combination of apples and sausage. They pair well together.
You can serve them with a toothpick or small cocktail forks like in the picture. However, they are quick tasty served with pretzel sticks.
- 2 lbs. fully cooked polish kielbasa, sliced
- 2 cups applesauce
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2–1 tsp cinnamon, optional
- Place all of the above ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
This can be prepared on the stove top. Place in a large sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
