  1. Well, this will be my second year having Halloween with my own child – she’s 14 months. But this year, we plan to take her trick-or-treating, for a little (kid-friendly) spooky park play, and them home to fiddle with all of the goodies. We’re already buying things to decorate for her and are certainly looking forward to it.

  2. My favorite Halloween tradition is that every family member creates their own headstone for the family plot (front yard)…we come up with some hilarious sayings to put on them!

  3. My favorite halloween tradition is making new treat bags. Every year i make new trick or treat bags, with iron ons, paint, and stuff. So fun

  4. My favorite Halloween tradition is every year getting together with our friends for Homemade Corn Dogs and carmel apples. Then we see who can do the most funniest, scariest or just delicious appetizers or other deserts. We started this when we had a few kids. Now those kids have kids.

  5. Halloween is my favorite, favorite. Every tradition we have is my favorite, but I really love painting pumpkins with my kids at the start of the month and then we carve them up at the end. Hooray for my favorite holiday coming up!

  6. My favorite Halloween tradition is the Halloween party I do each year for my immediate family and inlaws. It is so fun to get together and eat festive food and dress up. On Halloween, I always make chilli and take the kids out trick-or-treating. My favorite holiday for sure!

  7. We love getting pizza and eating orange chocolate chip cookies and then watching a older scary movie while we eat them.

  8. Our tradition is to make homemade french fries in the dutch oven instead of handing out candy on Halloween.

  9. Our tradition is instead of giving out candy on Halloween we make fresh french fries in the dutch oven. It is a huge hit!

  10. My family comes together during Halloween time and we carve pumpkins. Not just a couple….Last year we carved 20 pumpkins and lined my mom’s flower garden with them. We lit each one and took a group picture of them all glowing. They were awesome! With family living all over the area it’s a great time to get together and hang out!

  11. We set up a Halloween party for a large group of local kids from toddlers to high schoolers… a haunted house in the barn, food and drinks, and games. It’s hard to make events that all of the kids will love, but it is so much fun!!

  12. My favorite traditions would be sipping warm apple cider, riding on a hayride, telling spooky stories, and pumpkins.

  13. Carving pumpkins with my girls!
I guess I started them young carving their own because I’ve had carving parties with their friends now that they’re a bit older and no one else seems to have ever carved their own before, we either started early or no one else does it anymore.

  14. We love decorating for Halloween- we did it this week to prepare for the the whole month! And of course we have to decorate or carve pumpkins!

  15. We watch Halloween movies multiple times a week, beginning Oct 1 (or even the end of Sept), starting with ‘The Nightmare before Christmas’.

  16. Every year we have a halloween party/hantedhouse its so much fun everyones dresses up we have lots of candys and treats for the kids. Spookie drinks for the grown up’s…lol its alot of fun

  17. I love going to the pumpkin patch, dressing up as a family, and chili with breadsticks before trick or treating!

  18. My daughter always has a sleep over and I make “frightful” food. It is so much fun finding new things every year. The girls LOVE it and look forward to it every year.

  19. My favorite tradition is going to the local festival called Apple Umpkin which is about an hour drive. We look for something new for our Halloween decorations. On the way home we stop for various squash to cook, pumpkins to carve and decorate and of course picking up the apple cider and fry cakes. We make quite the day and evening out of it.

  20. Making a Halloween themed dinner and the going trick-or-treating with my kids! I wasn’t allowed to growing up so that is my favorite part!

  21. Decorating the whole outside porch area and inside hallway 2 weeks before Halloween is my favorite tradition. I love decking out my house for Halloween and always have fun trying to out do myself every year!

  22. My favorite Halloween is making chili and cornbread for my family. It’s wonderful to eat something warm and yummy before we head out trick or treating.

  23. My favorite Halloween tradition is having all my family over for pumpkin stew which is stew that I actually do bake in the pumpkin 🙂 I also make a lot of fun Halloween themed items for the kids too! After dinner my parents hand out candy while my hubby & I take the kids trick or treating.

  24. Now that I have kids, our favorite tradition is making some kind of fun and spooky treat–like bat shaped sugar cookies–and watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!” on t.v. They’re still young, so all aspects of Halloween are really fun for all of us 🙂

  25. Spending endless hours trying to decide what treats to make for the Halloween Party.
Picking out and deciding on the best costume … putting it all together for a fun evening with friends. It is a great time of year!

  26. We throw an awesome party on Halloween every year and try our best to come up with a fun theme for our costumes.

  27. My favorite tradition is going to the pumpkin patch and picking out a pumpkin for everyone to carve, and then carving them that evening.

  28. Potluck w/ all our neighbors & then the kids go trick-or-treating. Also, we traditionally carve a pumpkin & roast the seeds.

  29. Our favorite Halloween tradition is to make popcorn balls! My great-great grandmother started the tradition, so this goes waaay back. My first grandchild was born a month ago, so he starts the 7th generation Halloween tradition (wow- the first time I’ve actually counted that up)! 🙂

Thank you for the giveaway opportunity!

    Joy

  30. A tradition since my kids are teenagers is to go out to dinner on Halloween night and maybe to a movie….I know it’s not “scary”, but it’s something we enjoy!

  31. It’s hard to pick one, but we love to carve pumpkins & make homemade sugar cookies with frosting & candy corns!

  32. Our favorite tradition is getting together with friends for a potluck and trick or treating around the neighborhood

  33. My favorite halloween tradition is dressing my kids up and taking them to our church carnival then trick or treating in our neighborhood and my grandparents’ neighborbood.

  34. So many things about halloween I love! Every year we go to a church outing called Hallelujah Hoedown….sooo much fun!!! It’s in a ig open field and the kids can do hayrides, inflatables, face painting, games and they have tons of free food….basically a huge party….my kids love it and I love that I can safely turn them loose while I sit and socialize…..lol. They come home with so much candy they don’t even miss trick or treating, altho we do usually take the youngest one out when we get home 🙂

  35. My husband loves scary movies. So each year we host a scary movie marathon with a bunch of our closest friends. I figure safety in numbers right?!

  36. I love making a Halloween inspired dinner. We have mummy dogs and some fun sides. I got an ice mold of a hand to put in punch for a fun drink.

  37. My favorite tradition is a recent one that I just started a couple years ago. I have lots of siblings and nieces and nephews but since we are spread out all over town and we each have to take our kids out trick-or-treating, my nieces and nephews don’t get to come trick-or-treating to my house. Two years ago I started making caramel apples for all of them. I decorate them with Halloween sprinkles and put them in Halloween treat bags. I take them to my parents’ house so when each grandkid goes trick-or-treating there, they can pick up their special treats from Auntie Mandi. This year I think I might make black and orange mother goose popcorn instead, but it will still be something different from mini candy bars.

  38. My favorite tradition is one that no longer exists – making treats for the trick-or-treaters. I remember our favorite handouts were all home made: popcorn balls, candy apples and cookies. Too bad people have just become afraid of their neighbors.

  39. Pumpkin Carving!!! When I moved to FL, I met friends who had never carved a pumpkin before! I had a blast introducing them to it and they were awesome at it!!!!

  40. Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year! I love everything about it- carving pumpkins, baking pumpkin goodies, and giviing out candy to all the cute little kids in their costumes!

  41. Since it is only my husband and I, we like to carve pumpkins. When we have kids, I’m sure we’ll have lots more ways to have fun with Halloween.

  42. Our favorite tradition is pumpkin carving. Love to see what the kids’ imaginatons create.
