Happy New Year to you all! As we step into 2024, I’m thrilled to share the final highlight of the past year: the Reader’s Favorite Recipes of 2023. This is one of my favorite posts of the year! It’s a chance to look back at the dishes you loved the most. Among the top picks is the incredibly delicious Smoked Potato Casserole. It’s a recipe that’s sure to remain a favorite for years to come.

Two of the recipes featured this year also made it onto my personal list of favorites, and for good reason. They’re simply too good not to share again. The other two didn’t quite make it into my collection of go-to recipes last year. However, they’re both exceptional in their own right. Whether they’re classics or new discoveries, each of these recipes is worth celebrating and revisiting as we dive into another delicious year ahead!

Readers Favorites of 2023

First up for Reader’s Favorites Reader’s Favorites 2023 is smoked cheesy potato casserole. This made my best side dish recipe list and is one of my popular recipes today. Since trying these out on our pellet smoker, my family has fallen in love with this dish. It’s a winner for sure and is one of our favorite ways to enjoy potatoes!

We have enjoyed it numerous times since first trying it. We even had them for New Year’s Eve dinner last night with our friends. The smoked factor ups the flavor of this potato casserole to a whole other level. It is even excellent as leftovers.

Second one also was on my best side list.

The most challenging part of making this Easy Potatoes au Gratin might just be slicing the potatoes. However, even that doesn’t take much effort! A mandoline slicer can make quick work of it, ensuring your potato slices are even and cook perfectly. If you don’t have one, a sharp knife will work. As for the sauce, it couldn’t be simpler—no cooking required. All you have to do is mix the ingredients together. Then, pour the creamy mixture over the sliced potatoes, and let the oven work its magic.

The results are truly impressive: tender, flavorful layers of potatoes infused with rich, cheesy goodness. This recipe is perfect for holidays, family dinners, or whenever you’re craving a comforting, hearty side dish. With minimal effort and maximum flavor, it’s sure to become one of your go-to recipes for special occasions or weeknight meals alike.

The next recipe chosen by you is a delicious update to a classic favorite.

Originally posted in 2010, this recipe is a copycat version of the flavorful chicken from one of our go-to Mexican restaurants—Costa Vida. Packed with bold spices and a hint of sweetness, this dish is bursting with flavor. It makes a generous amount and is perfect for meal prep or feeding a crowd. One of my favorite things about this recipe is that it’s versatile and yields enough to create multiple meals.

This chicken can be used as a filling for almost any Mexican dish you can think of. It’s amazing in tacos or adds the perfect touch to a taco salad. It works wonderfully in burritos, quesadillas, or even enchiladas. Whether you’re serving it up for a family dinner or planning ahead for busy weeknights, this recipe is a must-try for anyone who loves the flavors of Mexican cuisine!

Readers Favorites of 2023

Last recipe is one I just posted in December, but it was the most popular of all of these recipes. It’s a recipe from my cookie category for sweetened condensed milk snowballs. They are a slightly sweet cookie but have a light and fluffy texture.

A light snowfall of powdered sugar is sprinkled over the cookies when they are finished. It’s how they get that fresh powder snowball look. These sweetened condensed milk snowballs are great as is. Or you can add a little extra to add to the flavor. Vanilla, almond, or lemon extracts are all great options. I hope you enjoy this January with one of these yummy recipes from my blog! Bon Appétit!
