Who doesn’t love Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread? It’s a fall classic and can continue on through the holidays. This is the best pumpkin chocolate chip bread recipe! I have been making it for 14 years now.

This recipe happens to come from my mother-in-law. I love the combination of spices that are used in this bread. It also calls for oil, which I like because I use canola oil in it.

You just add some canned pumpkin, flour, salt, nutmeg, cloves, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, sugar, and oil to a bowl. Mix it all together until combined. Then fold in some chocolate chips. This makes enough for 4 medium loaf pans. Divide the batter between the pans. Then bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

If you don’t have a pumpkin bread recipe, give this one a try. It’s is so easy to mix up and I know you will love the flavor. It’s great to gives as gifts or keep in the freezer for when you get a pumpkin bread craving!

I pretty much ate this for breakfast every day for a week! I made a loaf for our family, a loaf for a friend and shared the recipe with another friend. You can't have fall without pumpkin bread and this is a great recipe. I prefer it with Chocolate Chips.

  3. A question from the newbie here – How many ounces is a large can of pumpkin? I only know of the 15 ounce size, but I think that’s a more normal sized can. Thanks!

  4. Yum! I love pumpkin bread and don’t have a tried and true recipe yet. So I’ll have to try this one out! Thanks.
