One day, I was wanted something quick and easy to have along side and Italian dish. So, I came up with this. I’m sure I’m not the only one to ever think of this. It’s basically a grilled cheese sandwich with an Italian twist.
It’s great to serve along side any Italian pasta dish or Italian soup. I love to make it in my sandwich maker, but a good old frying pan will do just fine.
Italian Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- garlic spread (I use butter with Johnny’s garlic spread and seasoning that I got from either Sam’s or Costco or Chef Shammy’s garlic butter)
- bread
- shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Make as you would a regular grilled cheese using garlic butter on the bread and mozzarella cheese inside.

I love the Johnny’s garlic spread seasoning but never thought to use it on a grilled cheese. That looks great.

This sandwich sounds fantastic & would be great with my Lasagna soup! I can't wait to try it.
