During the summer, I have each of my kids take a night each week to plan the meal and cook it. It’s a great time for them to work on their cooking skills and I love the break.
My boys love burgers and often one of them is picking it as their weekly meal. I however, don’t let them off so easy. I don’t let them use the pre-made hamburger patties from the store. We buy the 80/20 percent beef and they make their own. For burgers, you want the beef with the high fat content. That is the way you get deliciously juicy burgers.
Now this Make Ahead Hamburger Patties recipe is a great way to make your own beef patties. You can even make a bunch at one time and freeze them for later. I love this method because most of the the seasoning gets mixed into the beef. I feel like when you just sprinkle the seasoning on the patties, a lot of it end up on the grill and not on the beef.
