Hawaiian Grilled Cheese

A grilled cheese is one of those sandwiches that everyone simply must know how to make. There’s just something about that buttery grilled bread encasing melty cheese. Well, today I am gonna show you how to up your grilled cheese game with a Hawaiian grilled cheese.

This version includes the addition of ham and pineapple just like you would find on a Hawaiian pizza. I am also gonna help you elevate that sandwich by adding in some herbs to the butter before you spread it on that bread.

Now the cheese really is the key ingredient to any grilled cheese sandwich so it is very important that you use a good cheese. A good cheese will melt perfectly and I am proud to use Cache Valley Cheese, inspired by the goodness of Cache Valley right here in my great state of Utah.

Hawaiian Grilled Cheese

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ tsp parsley
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 slices Cache Valley Havarti Cheese
  • 8 thin slices of ham
  • 4 pineapple rings

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine the butter with the parsley and oregano.
  • Lay out 4 slices of bread.Top the slices with a slice of cheese followed by 2 slices of ham and a pineapple ring.
  • Top each with on of the remaining slices of bread.
  • Butter out side of the sandwiches with the prepared herb butter. In a skillet over medium heat, toast both sides of the sandwiches until golden. Serves 4.
