So to finish off my bread week, I delved into my archives to pick fab five breads for today’s post. This was extremely had for this carb loving girl to do. I have said before that I think I really could live on bread alone because I love it so much. Not sure my body would like it, but hey, my taste buds would be pleased!
To help me narrow down my favs to 5 I had to have a guideline to follow. So I went for basic staple recipes and did not include any sweet breads. You can always take a look through my bread category for even more yummy recipes because there are a bunch of them there. Remember, I happen to be a big bread lover.
First off is my favorite garlic bread recipe.
It is the best way to dress up a good old loaf of french bread from the grocery store. I also love to use it and make mini garlic bread loaves. I just use crusty rolls from the grocery store like a sub roll.
Next is my go to potato roll recipe.
It is the best way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. These do take about 2 hours to make, but are well worth the time. It also makes 3 pans of rolls. So, I usually freeze the other two pans after they have cooked and cooled. I just take the whole thing out of the pan and place it in a gallon sized freezer bag. Then I have rolls for two other meals.
Now I do love the occasional soup in a bread bowl at this time of year. This is my favorite recipe to make them at home!
If yeast breads from scratch scare you, then no need to fear! This Easy Peasant bread is so simple to make you really can’t mess it up. Not only is it easy to make but it is SOOOO tasty. It definitely has the taste and look of an artisan bread. If you have a copy of my cookbook, this recipe is in there!
Last is my 30 minute rolls, yes you heard me right, rolls done in 30 minutes!
They are perfect when you are craving homemade rolls but simply don’t have the time to make them. My friend Leigh Anne from Your Homebased Mom recently used the recipe to make some herbed cheese rolls. This recipe can also be found in my cookbook!
