Waffles are a staple recipe for breakfast and everyone needs a good basic waffle recipe in their collection. I love my weekday waffle recipe but these classic buttermilk waffles are an easy version when you want waffles that include buttermilk.

This recipe is a great all around basic waffle recipe that includes buttermilk. The waffles turn out nice and tender. You can always make a buttermilk substitute if needed to make these. However, real buttermilk works so much better. If you can use it you should!

This recipe is basically a dump and mix recipe which always makes life easier. You are going to whisk some eggs, butter, buttermilk, and vanilla together. In another bowl, you are going to whisk some flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together. Then add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture. You wan to combine the two together until smooth.

Now it’s time to cook the waffles according to your manufacturers instructions. My waffle maker uses 1/2 cup of batter per waffle. I served these waffles topped with easy peach topping but buttermilk syrup would also be fabulous!
