Today’s recipe is my version of barbecue pork. Who doesn’t love a good bbq pork sandwich? Of course, I use my crock pot for this recipe. It also only requires 3 ingredients.
All you need is some barbecue sauce, root beer, and a pork loin roast. It cooks for 6-8 hours on low. You end up with a moist, tender, and flavorful pork.
1 (16oz-18 oz) bottle of barbecue sauce (I used Cattlemen’s Smokehouse)
a little extra root beer
Instructions
Place you roast in the crock pot. Pour in the root beer. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Remove roast from crock pot and shred. Dump out liquid from the crock pot.
Return shredded meat to crock pot. Add bottle of barbecue sauce. Then add enough root beer to make desired wetness. (This will all depend on how thick your sauce is, I probably add at least 1/4 cup). Serve on buns or rolls. Serves 12- 16.

I had to laugh when I saw this post…not because of the recipe (which I love!!!), but because I was just about to post this same recipe soon! (: I’ve noticed a pattern that way…I get these great recipe ideas to post, and then someone else beats me to the punch!–or in this case, root beer! (: I guess I’ve got to be quicker! (:
This one really does taste good, and it’s so simple!

When I saw this recipie this morning I was sure I was going to make it for dinner today, but then I found out I didn’t have any root beer on hand. I just love root beer and can’t wait to try this out. It looks super yummy. Thanks for sharing! In fact all your recipies look great.

I love how carbonated drinks tenderize meat in the crock pot. I’ve never tried root beer, but my family loves it, so I plan on giving this a try!
