This week I am sharing some yummy ideas for Halloween dinner. Â I love traditions but also like to occasionally give them a twist just to keep things exciting like with these monster nachos for your little monsters. They make a great Halloween party food!
Each Halloween I usually serve a bowl of my mom’s sweet chili with some sort of bread on the side. Â Last year, I saw an idea for monster nachos over at Cheeky Kitchen and decided to mix things up a bit with this tasty option. Â I took the chili and the nacho recipe and came up with my own version of monster nachos. Â It is always fun to give the dishes fun Halloween names for your Halloween dinner. Â My entire family loved them. It’s the perfect recipe!

Ingredients to Make Monster Nachos
- GUACACHIPS
- CHILI – Zombie Guts
- CHEESE – Shredded Mummy Wraps
- FRESH TOMATOES – Rotten Ogre Eyes
- RED ONION – Vampire Veins
- BELL PEPPER – Goblins Guts
- CILANTRO – Witches Hair
- SOUR CREAM – Ghosts Slime
- BLACK OLIVES – Bat Eyes
The star of the show for these nachos are these guacachips. Â Not only are they a beautiful bright Frankenstein green color but they have the flavor of guacamole. Â So you get the fun factor along with flavor. Â Awesome! These chips will be the base of your nachos.

If you can’t find these fun chips just look at your store for other fun chips. Â They usually have some tortilla chips that are colored orange and black at Halloween time. Â You could get those and just call them Halloween Nachos or Trick or Treat Nachos. Or just use your favorite chips.
Now if you want, you can even give the nacho toppings creative names like bat eyes for the olives, etc.  I included ideas with the ingredient list above. I made the nachos again this October in order to get a picture to share with you all.  This time I just used simple canned chili along with those so-delicious toppings.  So if you want life even easier the canned stuff works great too! It’s a great quick meal.
How to Make Monster Nachos
To make these Monster Nachos, start by preparing your favorite chili recipe. Once the chili is ready, it’s time to build the nachos!
On a large serving plate, add a bed of chips, followed by a generous amount of chili, and top it all off with shredded cheese. Next, add the nacho toppings – diced tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, cilantro, and olives. Add a dollop of sour cream on top of the nachos. Serve immediately for a fun and flavorful dish that will serve 6-8 people, depending on how big you build your plate of nachos!

Frequently Asked Questions
What other toppings work well for Monster Nachos?
Feel free to use your favorite nacho toppings. You can swap out the cheddar cheese for queso or nacho cheese. Jalapeños (Fiery Demon Slices), salsa (Zombie Blood), green onion (Zombie Sprouts), diced or sliced avocados (Ogre Guts), or guacamole (Swamp Goo) are other great choices. Feel free to switch it up according to your preference.
Can I make Monster Nachos ahead of time?
You can prepare all the ingredients ahead of time, but it’s best to assemble the nachos just before serving to keep the chips from getting soggy. Keep the chili warm and add toppings right before eating.
What’s a fun way to serve these Monster Nachos?
You can serve the nachos in a spooky platter or arrange them to look like a creepy face or monster. Using toppings creatively, like placing olives as eyes or drizzle sour cream as “spider webs,” can add to the Halloween fun.
