I have a fun gift idea for you today. This waffle mix gift set inspiration came from a post on One Good Thing by Jillee. She has a post on gifts in these glass jars and I decided to create this waffle mix version and I gave them out last year at Christmas.
It all starts with converting one of my favorite waffle recipes into a mix. I took my weekday waffles and then also created a chocolate version. I have already shared the recipe with you for. All you have to do is mix the dry ingredients together and place them in a container. I use Ziploc bags. You can find the weekday waffles and weekday chocolate waffles to make the mixes at the links I provided. The printable instructions are for these recipes.
Then a created a card listing the remaining ingredients that will need to be added to the mix along with the instructions. I included one regular mix and one chocolate mix with my gift set. I created a printable of the recipe card for you all and included it at the bottom of the post.
You can find the jars that I put the items in at Walmart or Amazon. They are available in 2 sizes and I use the largest 2 gallon sized one. The other size is a 1 gallon size. These jars are a great gift after to store items in or also work great as a punch bowl. I also purchase ribbon from Walmart to decorate the jars with.

- A Spatula – from the Dollar Store
- A Flour Sack Dish Towel – from Walmart
- Silicone Whisk – from Walmart
- Hot Cocoa Mix – these cute boxes were sold as a gift set at Walmart
- Powdered Sugar Shaker – from Amazon
- Flavored Syrup – from any grocery store
