My family loves turkey. However, I’m not always up for cooking a full turkey. My sister-in-law make this savory slow cooker turkey breast for a dinner party and we fell in love with it.

It’s easy to put together. And it also produces a moist turket that is full of flavor. The drippings left in the slow cooker make a deliciously flavor packed gravy too. This really is a no fail recipe.

Pair this meal with mashed potatoes. I also added a prepared boxed stuffing mix along with my recipe for sweet carrots as side dishes to complete the meal.

For this crockpot turkey breast, you need a boneless skinless turkey breast. I found one at my local Kroger store in the freezer section. It is oven ready and requires no thawing! It’s 2.75 pounds and feeds 3-4 people. This was perfect for my family. You can easily adjust the recipe for a large breast if needed.

Begin by placing the turkey in a slow cooker that you have sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine the onion soup mix with the water In a small bowl. Spread over the turkey breast. In another bowl, combine the the garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, seasoned salt, oregano, and basi together. Sprinkle the mixture over the turkey breast.

Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours. Cook it until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast reads 165 degrees.

Remove the turkey from the slow cooker. I use the juices in slow cooker to make a gravy. I like to use a slurry of flour to thicken it. However, you can use cornstarch slurry as a gluten free option.

Slice turkey and serve with the gravy. I also add cranberry sauce too! Add this on to your collection of turkey recipes.

Can I use bone-in turkey breast instead of boneless?
Yes, you can use bone-in turkey breast instead of boneless if desired. Keep in mind that bone-in turkey breast may require slightly longer cooking time compared to boneless turkey breast. Adjust the cooking time accordingly to ensure that you fully cook and tenderize the turkey.

Should I add liquid to the slow cooker when cooking turkey breast?
When cooking turkey breast in a slow cooker, you do not need to add any liquid. The meat will release its own juices as it cooks. Adding liquid is unnecessary because the meat will provide enough moisture on its own. This will result in a flavorful and juicy turkey breast.

If you prefer a more moist turkey breast, you can add a small amount of broth or water. This is also helpful if you plan to use the drippings for gravy.

How do I determine when the crock pot turkey breast recipe has finished cooking?
Cook the turkey breast until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of the meat. Additionally, the turkey breast should remain tender when fully cooked.

How do I make a flour slurry?
To make a flour slurry, mix equal parts flour and liquid (like water or broth) until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more liquid for thinning or more flour for thickening. Pour slowly into your recipe while stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Cook as directed until it thickens, stirring constantly.

How do I make a cornstarch slurry?
To make a cornstarch slurry, mix cornstarch with cold water in a 1:1 ratio until smooth. Gradually add the slurry to your recipe while stirring constantly to prevent clumping. Cook as directed until the mixture thickens, usually just a few minutes.
