Today I have some fun news to share with all of you. I will be at the RootsTech conference in Salt Lake City that is being held February 8-11. I will be there to help judge the Cake Competition along with Buddy Valastro also know as the Cake Boss!
The entry for the cake competition has closed but you can still come and see the cake entires in person at the conference. I must say I am ecstatic to be a judge.
If you haven’t heard of RootsTech before, it is a global family history event where people of all ages learn to discover, share and celebrate their family connections across generations through technology. At RootsTech, there is something for everyone, no matter your experience in family history or your skill level in technology.
There is a cost to attend the whole conference but if you use the code CAKEBOSS you will receive a 25% discount on the currently listed price. However, Saturday February 11th is the Family Discovery Day! You can attend this day for free but need to register to get a spot.
Me and my oldest son attended the free Family Discovery Day at the conference a few years ago. Two of the highlights we have from that day were listening to Silver Medalist Noelle Pikus Pace speak and hearing American Idol Season 7 Runner Up David Archuleta sing. We also enjoyed a few laughs with the cast from Studio C.
Of course there is a great line up for the conference this year. The Cake Boss Buddy Valastro is the keynote speaker (which is what I am most excited about). The Scott Brothers AKA as the Property Brothers will be there. Also, for those of you who remember the show Reading Rainbow, Levar Burton will be there too.
