Now that I showed you how to make your own sweet and sour sauce, I have a quick sweet and sour chicken stir fry meal that you can make to utilize that sauce.
Once you make the homemade sauce, you only need a few ingredients to get this meal on the table. One of the items that makes this dish easy to put together is frozen stir fry vegetables. There are a variety of these that you can find at the grocery store. Find what combination you like. I like to get a big bag of them from Sam’s Club. I love that this mix includes broccoli, red peppers, sugar snap peas, carrots, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and baby corn. They are easy to just throw into a stir fry.
I also serve this stir fry with extra sweet and sour sauce on the side. This way my family can add more if they want. Most of them usually do, but they can each do it to their own tastes.
