I love to make oven fries like these Montreal oven fries. They make less mess than deep frying, plus they are healthier for ya.

I always keep some Montreal steak seasoning in my pantry. I use it for all this from steak to chip dip. It is one of my favorite seasoning mixes. It is also what is used in this Montreal oven fries recipe to make them flavorful! So easy and so tasty.

It starts by cutting some russet potatoes into wedges. Toss those wedges with some olive oil. Then toss them again with some seasoned salt and Montreal steak seasoning. Next, just place those wedges on a baking sheet and cook at 475 degrees for about 12 minutes.

So much better for you than deep fried fries. Another advantage to oven fries is you can cook a lot and have them all ready at the same time. There is no need to batch cooking with the oven method.

If you have the time you can soak the potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes before baking. This allows the starch to diffuse out of the potato. Less starchy potatoes will crisp up better. Once soaked, dry the potatoes before tossing in the oil.
