I found this recipe for microwave hot fudge sauce at a site called San Diego Cooks.  I had to give it a try.  Could you really make a homemade hot fudge sauce in the microwave?  Could it really be ready in just a few minutes?  The answer is yes and it was delicious.  I used this sauce to serve on top of brownies sundaes that I made using the speedy brownie recipe I shared the other day.  Yum! Give it a try!

Today is also the day to announce the winner of the Progresso giveaway and the winner is:
KT who said I’ve never used Panko before. And, I actually don’t store much broth – because most of what I found has MSG in it and thanks to migraines, we try to be MSG free. I’ve found one brand of bouillon cubes that doesn’t have MSG, so I tend to use those.  I need to see if my grocery story has the Progresso broth because it would definitely become a staple.  Thanks for the giveaway! Congrats KT!

Also, check out this link at Refrigerator Soup.  They featured me and Real Mom Kitchen by asking 20 questions. Go on over and find out how I answered them. 🙂

Microwave Hot Fudge Sauce

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine (I used butter)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Dash of salt

Instructions

  1. In a 4-cup glass dish, combine the chocolate chips, corn syrup, and butter.
  2. Microwave at 70% power for 1 minute. Stir well.
  3. Then add the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and salt to the mixture. Blend well and microwave until bubbly (about 1 minute at full power).
  4. Stir and serve over ice cream. Refrigerate remaining sauce in air-tight container. Will keep for several days.

I made this yesterday for my husband's birthday. It was SOOO easy and SOOO delicious. I love the stove kind, but it takes a while and doesn't always turn out. This was a great find. Thanks!

I'm so excited! Thank you. I sent an email to the email in your contact, so hopefully you'll get it.

And, I love this idea. Other than the condensed milk, I always have the other ingredients on hand, and we love hot fudge around here.
