So if you follow me regularly, you know how much my family enjoys Mexican food. Everyone is happy when I make it. My husband and 2 boys love to eat at Taco Bell. Me, not so much. My stomach tends to dislike me when I eat there, not sure why.

So, I decided to give one of my family’s favorite menu items from the Taco Bell menu a try at home – Mexican Pizza {Taco Bell Copycat}. The result – my 3 guys were thrilled and my tummy was happy! Everyone enjoyed them!

  • 2 tbsp water

  1. Taco Bell was my first job…there wasn’t a computerized cash register then, we’d have to write orders on a lit black board with a white crayon lolol…fun times!!
Your recipe is pretty close…in order of layers it’s
    Shell
    Beans
    Taco meat
    Shell
    Pizza sauce (picanté sauce)
3 cheeses (cheddar, pepper jack and mozzarella)
    Tomatoes
    That’s it!

  2. To cook the tortilla in the oven do they get that light crispy texture or are they more on the soft side?

  3. This looks good, but I think the directions are missing something or out of order. Step 7 says to slice them, but step 8 says to add the top layer. And in step 6 it says to melt the cheese, but never says to add it.
