It’s time for the count down! For years now, I have been counting down to the new year with the best recipes from that year. We begin each year with the best appetizers, so here are the best appetizers of 2021.

These always are a good option if you are planning a party to ring in the new year! Any of these recipes would be a great addition to whatever you may have planned.

First up is a recipe for my family’s favorite cheese ball. We usually buy it from a local grocery store called Harmon’s. However, Harmon’s recently shared their recipe and now I love to make it at home. It makes a lot, but you can easily half the recipe to make less. My family loves it when I can make it for Christmas and then we can enjoy the cheese ball all the way through the new year. Now, I don’t ever shape it into a cheeseball, but feel free to do so if you like.

Next up is another great option to serve with crackers. It’s a three cheese spread. It includes sharp cheddar, pepper jack, and cream cheese. You can convert this spread into a cheeseball if you want. However, my family loves it as a spread. My family doesn’t love nuts like I do, so that’s why they prefer to just have a spread instead.

Our third best appetizer from 2021 is my mom’s wonton recipe.

You can also roll these up as egg rolls too. You only need 5 ingredients for the filling. One of the ingredients is cooked chicken, so it’s a great way to use leftover chicken when you have some. Then I just serve these up with sweet and sour sauce. You can buy a bottle from the store or I have a simple recipe where you can make your own.

Last up is a pina colada dipping sauce that I love to serve with coconut shrimp. This recipe is a copy cat version of what Red Lobster serves with their coconut shrimp. It’s tropical flavor pair so perfectly with the coconut shrimp. It gives you that sweet taste along with the savory flavor from the shrimp.
