So are you loving the “Four weeks of Fall” posts I have been sharing? Well, we are continuing this week and the theme is breads! You can’t have a bowl of soup without some kind of yummy warm bread on the side, right? So now that we had a week full of soups last week, we will a have a week full of bread recipes to compliment those all of those soups. We will begin with 7-Up Biscuits.
Today’s recipe for 7-Up Biscuits is one of the easiest biscuit recipes you will ever find! The biscuit itself is only 3 ingredients! You end up getting the most tender biscuits! You simply MUST, MUST, MUST make them! Serve them with butter or serve them with jam. I also high recommend to pair them with the chicken pot pie soup recipe I shared on Friday.
Here is what you need to make the
7-Up Biscuits
- BAKING MIX (I USED BISQUICK)
- SOUR CREAM (I USED LIGHT)
- 7-UP OR OTHER LEMON LIME SODA
- BUTTER
7-Up Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups baking mix (I used Bisquick)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (I used light)
- 1/2 cup 7-Up or other lemon lime soda
- 3 Tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the baking mix and sour cream. Add the 7-Up and combine. The dough will be very tender.
- Sprinkle some additional baking mix on your working surface and shape dough into a 9 inch square.
- Cut dough into 9 squares. I like to use my pizza cutter to do this.
- Pour 2 of the Tbsp of melted butter into a 9 inch square baking dish. Be sure the butter coats the bottom of the pan.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes until golden. Brush tops of biscuits with remaining melted butter. Serves 9

I am a big fan of biscuits , and these look so easy that I HAVE to try them! But can someone please tell me: does the 7-up make the biscuits taste sweet?
I love biscuits, can’t wait to try these. Can someone tell me, though, does the 7-up make them sweet?

I made these tonight! I am NOT a break baker, but they turned out perfectly! So light! And so easy to make! Thank you for this recipe! To Norma, I think the hint I’d give it to work lightly with the dough and mine wasn’t too sticky once I turned it out on the extra Bisquick powder. I sort of patted some on top and on all sides as I lightly shaped it into the square. Then after I cut it into 9 equal pieces, I gently lifted them into the baking pan and fit them together. Some I had to reshape a little to make it fit right, but there was no problem with dough everywhere. The dusting is the hint I think.

Laura,
I made your families fav soup and these biscuits today and they are both wonderful.
BUT, do you have any helpful hints as to an easier way to deal with this biscuit dough……..AHHHH, it was sooo sticky and I thought I was going to go crazy trying to make the 9 inch shape and then getting them into the pan.
I think everything around me had some of that dough on it by the time I was done. HELP!!!

This makes me think of a recipe for bisquits we used to make. I think they had sparkling water in them. These look good and sound pretty easy. I will have to try them and see if they are anything like the ones we used to make. I like the fact that they have so few ingrediants so should have the ingrediants necessary to make in a pinch

I have a go to biscuit recipe that is really good but every time I make it, it seems like something is missing. Maybe that secret missing ingredient is 7-up! I think I will give these a go next.
