Black Forest Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup canola oil
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Powdered sugar
  • Chocolate syrup
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  • In large bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar and baking powder together.
  • Add in eggs, oil, buttermilk and vanilla and stir just until combined.
  • Cook in waffle maker according to manufacturers instruction.
  • Dust each waffle with powdered sugar and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Then top with cherry pie filling and whipped cream. Number of waffles will depend on waffle maker.
