Secret Banana Smoothie

by Laura

I am always looking for ways to use up overripe bananas.  I found this Secret Banana Smoothie recipe over at Mom Spark.  The secret ingredient in this is almond extract.  I loved the flavor but there was too much almond extract in my opinion.  Next time I’d reduce it to at least 1/2 tsp.  I also think it would be good to reduce the milk a little and throw in some banana pie yogurt.  It’s a quick, easy, and delicious breakfast or snack.  I also have a yummy bananarita smoothie recipe that I LOVE if you want to check it out too.

Here is what you need to make the

Secret Banana Smoothie

  • MILK  (I USED SKIM)
  • ICE
  • BANANA
  • ALMOND EXTRACT
  • SUGAR

Agreed, I used almond milk and just a few drops of vanilla. Very yummy and easy way to add a serving of fruit!

This actually sounds REALLY good today. There’s just nothing quite as good as making your own smoothies at home.
