Christmas morning can be so magical. Seeing the joy in others through giving can be pretty amazing. So on such a magical morning, you want something worthy of such a day. However, you want to be able to enjoy the morning and not spend it all in the kitchen preparing a meal.
Make ahead overnight options tend to be the best solution. I have compiled a collection of my best make ahead overnight recipes for Christmas morning to help start your day off in the perfect way.
Recipes for Christmas Morning
Kneader’s Chunky French Toast – This is a copy cat recipe from a restaurant/bakery that started in Utah. If you are lucky enough to have one near you, then it is best to buy the chunky cinnamon bread from there to make it. If not, any cinnamon bread, sliced thick from your local bakery would suffice.
Overnight Slow Cooker Oatmeal – This is a hearty hot breakfast that you can serve with an array of toppings.
Overnight Sourdough Waffles – The overnight process is what makes these waffles sourdough. I have many syrup and sauce to top these with, so check out my archives.
Creme Brulee French Toast – This overnight version has slices of french toast with a sweet sugary layer on top.
Overnight Blueberry French Toast with Blueberry Syrup – This french toast casserole has pockets of cream cheese and blueberries. A coating of a blueberry syrup is the finishing touch.
Breakfast Casserole – This stratta type casserole uses bread, eggs, sausage and cheese!
Streusel Topped French Toast Bake – The streusel topping is what makes this french toast bake extra special. I love it topped with strawberry slices to serve.
Overnight Cinnamon Rolls – The dough for these is made the night before. Just assemble in the morning, rise for 30 minutes and bake.
German Scones with Cinnamon Honey Butter – The dough for these raised dough Utah style scones is made the night before. Just roll and fry in the morning.
Overnight French Toast Bake with Berry Topping – This is a basic french toast casserole that is topped with a luscious berry topping.
Overnight Hashbrown Casserole – This casserole includes bacon and o’brien potatoes.
Baked Oven Omelet – This is a recipe that comes from my mom and is a family favorite.
