Have you ever tried pickled red onion before? It’s really tasty especially on sandwiches, tacos, hot dogs or burgers. It is also great to use in recipes in place of raw onion like mayo based salads or dips. You can even use it as a topping for green salad or avocado toast.
Pickling onion is a great way to add fresh onion to whatever you like. It is more mellow but flavorful than just a regular old raw red onion. With the recipe I am sharing with you today, there is no reason you should give this condiment a try!
For this recipe, it’s as easy as slicing up some. Then place it in a mason jar with some Italian dressing. Place it in the fridge for 24 hours and it’s ready to use. It will also keep in the fridge for up to a month. You could even change it up by using a different oil and vinegar based dressing. I think a balsamic dressing would be perfect to try this with! A red wine vinaigrette or sun dried tomato vinaigrette and some other flavors I want to try this with too!
