Hamburger Sliders

by Laura

I love serving hamburger sliders. There is just something fun about their mini size. The kids especially love them. However, they aren’t so fun to make. Especially if you are grilling. It takes a bit of time to pay attention to all of those patties.

Today’s recipe makes the process of making sliders much easier. You basically make one big patty and bake it in the oven, like of like a big flat meatloaf. Then you cut the large patty into slider patties and serve on your slider buns.

I also think the bun is an important part of the slider and in my opinion the King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Dinner Rolls are perfect for these. They are super soft with a bit of sweetness.

Hamburger Sliders

  • 2 pounds, lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • pepper to taote
  • 1 (24 count) or 2 (12 count) packages of King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Dinner Rolls
  • 6 slices of Velveeta cheese slices
  • 20 pickle slices (dill or my favorite – bread and butter)
  • mayonnaise
  • ketchup
  • mustard

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, diced onion, garlic salt, and pepper.
  3. Press meat mixture evenly into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. The meat will shrink as it cooks and pull away from the edges. Carefully drain off grease after cooked.
  4. Top meat with cheese slices and return to the oven for about 2 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from the oven and let rest for a minute. Then cut into 20 patties (4 x 5 rows).
  6. Serve on buns with a pickle slice along with mayo, mustard and ketchup. (I placed mayo on the bottom bun and a little squirt of may on mustard on the top bun) Makes 20 sliders.
