Today we are finishing off hot drink mix with a tasty gingerbread hot cocoa mix that is perfect for gifting!
With just a few simple ingredients whisked together you can have a tasty gingerbread hot cocoa mix ready to enjoy or share as part of a Christmas gift. You can include a mug and marshmallows. You could even include a battery powered frother!
The base in comprised of sugar, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder. You could use that just as it is for a regular hot cocoa mix. However, the addition of the spices to give you that gingerbread flavor adds some warmth in flavor. You mix in some ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Now since this mix does not include any powdered milk, it needs to be added to milk. You just add 2-3 Tbsp to 1 1/2 cups of milk. You mix it in but it won’t want to mix into the milk. Then you place it in the microwave for 1 minute and mix again. This time the mix will dissolve. Then you microwave for a minute or so again until it’s heated to the desired temperature. That’s it!
Enjoy this topped with marshmallows or whipped cream. You could even use my recipe for marshmallow whipped cream and get the best of both worlds. Another thing you could do is make these Cool Whip shapes for hot chocolate/cocoa. Then you could use a gingerbread shape to make to go on top or each cup of gingerbread hot cocoa! I think that would make it even more special!
