Cherries Jubilee and the WeMo Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker

We have a joke around our house about “there’s an app for that.” Just about anything you could possibly need, you can find an app for it. Well, now there is a way to control your slow cooker with an app on you smart phone. So today I am going to share a recipe for Cherries Jubilee and info about the WeMo Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker.

The new Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker enabled with WeMo^TM  gives you remote access via your smart device to all cooking functions. Need to adjust cooking time or temperature? Need to shift to warm or turn off your Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker? That is no problem with this new technology. Just open the app on your smart device and adjust whatever you need to.

I received a new Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker enabled with WeMo^TM  to try out from the people at Crock-Pot® Slow Cookers.

So the Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker enabled with WeMo^TM  uses your home wifi to communicate with your smart device. I must admit it was a little tricky getting it set up, mainly because I didn’t know our wifi password and when I asked my hubby about it the one he initially gave me was wrong.

Once we got the password issue all squared away, it was fairly simple to set up using the quick start reference guide. Once you can see the slow cooker is connected via the wifi,  you can set the temperature and the desired time on your smart device.  This is especially great for those recipe that cook at times that are out of the usual 2-4 on high or 8-10 on low on some of the slow cookers with timers. Just like with the recipe I am sharing with you today. It cooks on low for 4 hours.

I did discover that the app doesn’t always reflect the item that you just changed in the app. However, if you close the app and reopen it, you can see whatever you just selected for the slow cooker.

It was kind of cool to go into the app and be apple to see it was going at the desired temperature and how much cooking time remained.

Now, the recipe for Cherries Jubilee today is an easy one to make in the WeMo Crock-Pot® Smart Slow Cooker. You only need 3 ingredients for it. However, I highly recommend serving it with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Ice cream would be my favorite choice.

I made this using cherry pie filling, but by all means, feel free to change it out for apple, blueberry, etc.

This is a recipe that I had over at our friends house this summer. It was a hit and everyone gobbled it up. It is so easy there is no excuse not to make it.
