Today, I thought I would share with you what products I like to use for cleaning surfaces and tomorrow I am gonna share what I like to use for cleaning floors.

As many of you know we are building a new house. This, or course, means moving and selling our current home. Prepping my home for listing it to sell has been quite a task and has taken up a lot of my time, giving me less time in the kitchen.

With all this prepping and cleaning I thought it would only make sense to share with you some of my tips and tricks. Plus, it helps make up for that lack of time in the kitchen.

For the use of these products, I use 3 types of cleaning cloths. Microfiber cleaning cloths are the best for most jobs. I have a drawer full of these Zwipes Microfiber cloths from Amazon.

Now for mirrors and windows, I love to use the Rags in a Box from Scott along with Windex. You could use a microfiber cloth but I really love these instead. They are lint free and just do the best job when it comes to windows and mirrors along with Windex. I also like to use Windex on stainless steel fixtures.

Then when using products like Bar Keepers Friend or Soft Scrub with bleach, I use a white cotton bar mop dishcloth. Bar Keepers Friend is excellent for cleaning dark marks from dishes in my porcelain kitchen sink and also works well for cleaning stainless steel fixtures. For white surfaces, like bathroom sinks and tubs or kitchen sink I make sure to use soft scrub with bleach. Bar Keepers Friend works great unless there is a good stain left from something. You really need something with bleach to really get rid of a good stain. I use this most frequently in my white porcelain kitchen sink and bathtubs.

Most of everything else in my house is cleaned with Zep Quick Clean Disinfectant. I do have to go to Home Depot to pick this up but it only cost about $2.50 a bottle. This really is an awesome all around cleaner. It cleans, deodorizes and disinfects in one easy step killing 99.9% of bacteria in five seconds. It is also able to cut through tough grime.

Last, if you come across anything that has a sticky residue, Goof Off is what I grab. It works great on whatever the Zep Cleaner just couldn’t get.

I appreciate this post! I feel like I can leave my windows and smeared walls as part of Halloween (scary, right??), but afterward, it’s all gotta go! My Amazon cart will be sporting your recommendations!
