Cinnamon Rolls are a staple recipe in my book. Everyone should know how to make a good cinnamon roll. Once you have a great recipe, there are some tips and tricks for making cinnamon rolls that can make the process easier and help make your cinnamon rolls look beautiful.
Today, I am going to share with you my tips and tricks for making the perfect cinnamon roll. A big portion of these tips and tricks include PAM Cooking Spray.
Once you have the dough made for you rolls, it’s time to let the dough raise. It works best to cover the dough while it rises. This helps hold in warmth and keeps the dough from drying out. Spray a sheet of plastic wrap with PAM Cooking Spray and cover your dough. This way if the dough rises above your bowl, it won’t stick to the plastic wrap.
Then, once your dough is ready to roll out, spray your work area with PAM Cooking Spray. This will prevent the dough from sticking to the counter while rolling it out and eliminate the need for covering your work space with extra flour. Without the need for extra flour, your dough can stay nice and tender. Plus, it’s less mess to clean up!
Once you have placed the filling on your dough and rolled it up into a log, it’s time to cut the log into slices to shape those cinnamon rolls. This is best done by using plain dental floss. Make sure it is plain and not mint flavored. You can use sewing thread in a pinch, but the dental floss is magic. It slices the dough perfectly and doesn’t smash it like when you use a knife.
Once the cinnamon rolls are shaped and in the pan that has been sprayed with PAM Cooking Spray, cover them to rise again with a sheet of plastic wrap sprayed with PAM Cooking Spray. That way, as the rolls raise they won’t stick to the plastic sheet. Also, it will help to let them raise in a nice warm place. I preheat my oven to warm or 170 degrees. Once it’s preheated, I turn the oven off and place the rolls in there. By doing this, you can usually cut the raise time in half. I love that PAM leaves 99% less residue than margarine or bargain-brand cooking sprays too.
Now, go grab you favorite cinnamon roll recipe and get cooking using these tips. I’m telling you, it will make the process so much easier!
